Laptops for Lions

If you'd like to become involved and help the lion conservation efforts, please consider participating in the Laptops for Lions initiative. Here's more about the project.

Laptops for Lions

The wild lions in Africa are in great trouble. Once numbering in the hundreds of thousands, there are approximately 20,000 to 30,000 remaining. Experts believe the wild lion will become extinct within ten to twenty years' time if action isn't take now to reverse this tragedy. Many people simply don't know that the lion population has shrunk to the current alarming numbers. It's very important that people are made aware of the plight of one of the world's most iconic and beloved animals.

Laptops for Lions is a fund raising project where 100% of the donated funds will be used to purchase laptop computers to be used by lion conservation groups in Africa.

How did this project begin? I recently visited Africa to work on a lion conservation project and was very surprised at the sad state of the computers used by the conservation groups working so hard on behalf of the lions. Their systems were extremely outdated, cobbled together with various parts, and painfully slow. Newer laptops will enable them to globally communicate, conduct and analyze data collection, study lion movement patterns, fund raising, presentation writing, etc.

Below you'll find websites to the lion conservation groups that your donations will help. These are just some of the groups that will benefit from your donations. I will be adding additional groups to assist as I'm able to raise more funds. In addition, I have a separate project with Dell to assist other lion conservation groups not listed below.

The lion conservation groups that will directly benefit from your donations are:

  • Living with Lions
  • Ewaso Lions
Please click the button below to donate.
Any size donation is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    • For donations of $5 or more, you'll receive a heartfelt thank you with the knowledge that you're helping make a difference in lion conservation!
    • For donations of $25 or more, you'll receive one 5 x 7 lion print of your choice (color or B&W).
    • For donations of $50 or more, you'll receive one 8 x 10 lion print of your choice (suitable for framing, but not matted or framed)
    • For donations of $200 or more, you'll receive one 8 x 10 signed and dated lion print (of your choice) matted and framed in a modern black frame.
All prints will be printed using high quality Gylcee print and German Hahnemuhle paper.
I will provide all donors who provide an email address with a report listing the donated laptops and which lion conservation groups received those laptops. Taxes, transport and shipping charges of the laptops to the conservation groups will be deducted from the donations. If possible, I may transport some of the laptops to Living with Lions in Kenya.

You may choose your print(s) from the African Lion Prints gallery located at my website below:

Below are some samples of just a few of the lion prints.

These prints look beautiful framed as sets and would make a gorgeous addition to a veterinary clinic, attorney's office, salon, restaurant, or home.

Thank you for your donation and caring about the Lions of Africa.

"Who will now care for the animals, for they cannot look after themselves? Are there young men and women who are willing to take on this charge? Who will raise their voices, when mine is carried away on the wind, to plead their case?"
