I've found a volunteer opportunity that I've pretty excited about. It's with the same volunteer organization that my last trip was with (African Impact) and this is working on wildlife conservation on the Masai Mara in Kenya! Will have to look into it a bit more, talk to past volunteers and get their feedback, etc. Here's a few promotional photos from this project.
Now you can probably see why I'm excited about this project. Plus a friend of mine (who's in the Masai tribe in Africa) has been telling me about how wonderful it is, especially the annual migration (that's going on right now!!!) in the Serengeti.
If I had the opportunity to view the annual migration through the Serengeti, what a once-in-a-lifetime experience that would be! Especially since the government is currently considering putting a highway through the middle of the Serengeti, which is absolutely unthinkable to anyone who values wildlife and the amazing beauty of nature. Here's some information on the Masai Mara and the types of animals that inhabit that area. This is from TravelVideoStore (you may have to zoom in as the text is quite small):
If you'd like to participate in trying to stop the Serengeti highway, please visit this website, join the coalition and sign the petition. This is the last migration of its kind to exist and it would be an absolute tragedy to destroy it.

Thanks.
