How You Can Help the African Lion

If you've been following this blog, you know that a Petition was recently filed with the U.S. Department of the Interior to reclassify the African lion as endangered. If this petition is successful and the lion is reclassified, it will mean a lot for the lion's future. By being reclassified, it will mean that imports of lion trophies into the U.S. will be illegal which will in turn deter American hunters from sport hunting solely to return with a trophy. It is believed that 50% of hunters in Africa who hunt lions are from the United States. In addition, the purchase and sale of lion meat or any lion parts will be illegal.
